Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Nurse Christie is a Masters-level prepared nurse with advanced training in pediatrics, is recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing and licensed as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Nurse Practitioners provide care to infants, children and adolescents. Christie's scope of practice includes:

• Conducting sick or problem-related visits and preventative well child exams.
• Assessing, diagnosing, and treating children from birth to 17 years of age.
• Ordering diagnostic tests, labs, x-rays, and treatments.
• Prescribing medication and treatments.
• Making referrals to other health care specialists.
• Patient education.

Christie is also a credentialed and networked provider for BlueCross Blue Shield of Texas and has Allied Staff privileges at Baylor Medical Center in Frisco and Presbyterian Hospital at Plano.

Christie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. She received her Master of Science degree from Texas Woman's University in Dallas while completing the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program. Christie's experience includes general pediatrics, pediatric holistic and alternative medicine, as well as allergy and dermatology specialties. Christie's education and experience has added a new dimension to the Healthy Kids Pediatrics team.

In her free time she enjoys movies, biking, hanging out with friends and family, and playing with her adorable nephews, Luke and Elijah.
