Meet Our Nurse Practitioner

Our Nurse Practitioner is a Masters-level prepared nurse with advanced training in Family Practice. She is recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing and licensed as an Advance Practice Nurse. At Healthy Kids Pediatrics Nurse Practitioners provide care to infants, children and adolescents. Our Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice includes:

• Conducting sick or problem-related visits and preventative well child exams.
• Assessing, diagnosing, and treating children from birth to 17 years of age.
• Ordering diagnostic tests, labs, x-rays, and treatments.
• Prescribing medication and treatments.
• Making referrals to other health care specialists.
• Patient education

Jessica Drain, FNP-BC

Jessica Drain, FNP-BC (Certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner) received her Bachelor of Science from Texas Women's University School of Nursing in Denton, Texas. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Wheeling Jesuit University, Family Nurse Practitioner Program in Wheeling, West Virginia. Jessica's experience includes Family Practice and Emergency Medicine. Jessica joined Healthy Kids Pediatrics in July 2011 and has become a valuable asset to the provider team.

Jessica is also a credentialed and network provider for BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. In her free time she enjoys reading, live music, and spending time with friends and family.
