Meet Your Providers With Your Children’s Best Interest!
Meet our Nurse Practitioners
Hi y’all! I was born and raised here in Texas. I am married with one son, who is an avid baseball player and football lover! My husband and I volunteer with McKinney Little League in our spare time. I serve on the board of our son’s school PTA in Frisco ISD. We attend Hope Fellowship at the Frisco East Campus. We love traveling, spending time with family and friends, and trying out new recipes.
I am a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner whose calling came after being dismissed by our first pediatrician. As a mom I wanted to be heard, and as a nurse knew I wanted more for my son and my patients. It was during this time that I found functional and integrative medicine at HKP as a mom! I quickly became an advocate for my son, then in the hospital setting not only for my tiny patients but their sweet families too. I served as a NICU RN for 17 years, and an adult oncology RN for 2.
I graduated in 2005 with my RN from Tarrant County College. In 2009 from UT Austin (Hook ‘em) with my Bachelors in Nursing. And finally my Masters in Nursing from UT Arlington in 2022. In the interim I took some much needed time off to be with my family! I am now ready to serve my purpose in life as a functional and integrative provider. I will do my absolute best in assisting you with finding root causes and helping your child be the best they can be!
Rachel Wallace APRN, FNP-C

Rachel started her nursing career after obtaining her bachelor's degree in nursing in 2020 from Texas Woman's University Health Science Center in Houston, where she was able to train in the Texas Medical Center - the largest medical complex in the world. After graduating, she started her career in the Pediatric ICU at a level-one trauma hospital in Dallas. She continued her career in the PICU at Cook Children's Medical Center in Prosper when it opened in 2023. She has always had a passion for taking care of children and their families during some of the most vulnerable times of their lives. She pursued a Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner degree while working full time and graduated from Texas Woman's University in 2024. Rachel is now a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received the majority of her training for her FNP at Healthy Kids Pediatrics, where Dr. Bain and her staff welcomed her with open arms. She was able to learn and immerse herself in a new approach to pediatric medical care by incorporating a holistic approach when treating patients. Now, everything has come full circle as she joins the HKP family as a Nurse Practitioner. She can't wait to meet her new patients and their families and begin this new chapter!
Rachel is married and has a black lab fur baby named Jax. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, vacations to the beach, and trying new restaurants!
Shanae Skillern APRN, CNP

Hi, I’m Shanae! I am a certified pediatric primary care nurse practitioner. Before I became an NP, my nursing background was mainly in critical care, trauma, and emergency care. I have obtained specialty certifications in pediatric emergencies, mobile intensive care nursing, trauma, and advanced life saving skills. After becoming a mother, I gained a deep passion for the pediatric population and wanted to do everything I could to contribute to the health of the children in my community. I work as a substitute school nurse as well, which has been so fun and such a great learning experience!
Northern California is where I am originally from, but I moved to Texas 7 years ago. I am a mother of 2 boys (with 1 on the way) and married to my husband of 7 years. We love sports, traveling to anywhere we can appreciate beautiful nature, and are very active in our church.
I am also the author of “Helmet Head“, a children’s book teaching kids about the importance of helmets. It is also inclusive for babies that have to wear orthotic helmets, inspired by my very own helmet wearing baby.
It is a blessing to have the chance to care for your children and I thank you for allowing me to come along side you in making sure they are as healthy as possible!
